World Language Immersion in the Delaware Department of Education

http://Lynn%20Fulton%20is%20a%20language%20educator%20with%20extensive%20experience%20in%20classrooms%20from%20Kindergarten%20through%20grades%2016+. %20She%20is%20passionate%20about%20giving%20students%20early%20language%20learning%20experiences%20and%20has%20spent%20more%20than%20half%20her%20career%20focused%20on%20helping%20schools%20and%20districts%20create%20such%20opportunities%20for%20all%20early%20learners,%20knowing%20that%20early%20starts%20help%20lead%20students%20to%20high%20levels%20of%20language%20proficiency. %20As%20Education%20Specialist%20at%20the%20Delaware%20Department%20of%20Education,%20Lynn%20coordinates%20the%20Dual%20Language%20Immersion%20component%20of%20thespan%20class=Apple-converted-space /spanemWorld%20Language%20Expansion%20Initiative,/emspan%20class=Apple-converted-space /spanwhich%20includes%20a%20network%20of%20more%20than%20forty%20Chinese%20and%20Spanish%20immersion%20schools. span%20class=Apple-converted-space /spanShe%20works%20with%20administrators%20and%20teachers%20on%20a%20regular%20basis%20to%20build%20their%20capacity%20to%20implement%20and%20sustain%20programs%20that%20lead%20students%20to%20high%20levels%20of%20academic%20achievement%20and%20language%20proficiency%20and%20regularly%20designs%20and%20delivers%20professional%20learning%20for%20language%20educators%20in%20a%20variety%20of%20contexts%20at%20a%20variety%20of%20levels. %20Lynnspan%20class=Apple-converted-space /spancurrently%20serves%20on%20the%20steering%20committee%20of%20the%20Dual%20Language%20Immersion%20National%20Research%20Alliance%20and%20has%20been%20previously%20elected%20to%20the%20boards%20of%20both%20the%20American%20Council%20on%20the%20Teaching%20of%20Foreign%20Languages%20and%20the%20National%20Council%20of%20State%20Supervisors%20for%20Languages. %20She%20has%20received%20several%20awards%20for%20excellence%20in%20teaching,%20including%20the%20South%20Carolina%20Foreign%20Language%20Teachers’%20Association%20World%20Language%20Teacher%20of%20the%20Year%20Award,%20and%20has%20published%20articles%20in%20journals%20such%20asspan%20class=Apple-converted-space /spanemThe%20Language%20Educator/emspan%20class=Apple-converted-space /spanandspan%20class=Apple-converted-space /spanemLearning%20Languages/em. %20She%20holds%20B.A.%20degrees%20in%20Spanish%20and%20in%20History%20from%20Wofford%20College,%20an%20M.A.%20in%20Spanish%20Language%20and%20Literature%20from%20Middlebury%20College%20–%20the%20School%20in%20Spain,%20and%20is%20pursuing%20her%20doctorate%20in%20Educational%20Leadership%20at%20the%20University%20of%20Delaware.
