Naiyi Xie Fincham has an extensive background in designing, implementing, and enhancing online and blended language courses for learners with various academic and professional needs across different proficiency levels. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology from Michigan State University, a MA in Educational Studies from the University of Warwick (UK), and a BA in English Language and Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University (China). Naiyi’s research and work lie at the intersection of second language pedagogy, computer-assisted language learning, and instructional technologies and design. Her interests include technology-enhanced innovative pedagogies and fostering language learners’ self-regulated learning abilities through effective learning design and learner support. Her recent projects focus on the applications of generative AI for developing L2 communicative competence and designing engaging language learning experiences in mixed reality multimodal environments.
