Frequently Asked Questions
Is the studio easy to use?
The One Button Studio was designed to make video recording quick and easy, as this video demonstrates. First-time users will get media support to set up their recording preferences including choice of background.
Is training required?
No training is required; however, we encourage you to view our OBS video tutorial prior to your first session.

For instructional support, contact one of the CLT’s faculty specialists.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a USB drive – typically, you’ll need 1GB of drive space for one hour of HD video recording. After recording, your video(s) will be automatically saved on your USB drive.
Although not necessary, you may bring a second flash drive if you are using presentation slides or other visuals. Alternately, you may access your presentation materials from cloud storage (Google Drive, etc.) or the flash drive you are using for video recording.
Where do I stand?
Stand behind the tape lines on the floor of the One Button Studio. There are markings for a one-person and two-person presentation.
How do I use different backdrops?
CLT staff will help you set up your session with either a green or blue screen or another graphic background from our selection. You may use your Slides presentation as a background as well.
What do I wear?
Solid colors work well. We can help you select a background that results in the best color separation and contrast. Note that logos will appear in mirror image (backward) in your video recording.
What will be the format of my video recording?
One Button Studio will save your recordings in MP4, which can later be edited in video editing software or uploaded to YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, etc.
